At Black River & Bay Area Diamond Company, we’re very familiar with creating beautiful designs and memories for our customers that last a lifetime. There are some projects, however, that resonate especially sentimental. Projects that represent many years of love and life, captured and emulated in a beautiful piece of jewelry. Working with Bridget this summer was certainly one of these projects.
The thought, intention, and sentiment that went into the creation of these beautiful heart pendants brought tears to the eyes of our associates, and surely Bridget + her family, on more than one occasion. We reached out to see if she’d be willing to share a bit of her ‘heart’ (literally!) with us so that we could share with you. Read Bridget's story below. ♡

"This journey started in 2019 when I got my 20th anniversary ring. My husband & I talked about using our original rings to make ‘something’ for our three daughters. In March of 2022 my husband passed away. I found it emotionally difficult to keep wearing my anniversary wedding ring but I loved my diamond. I decided to look for a ring I could wear daily - so I could keep wearing my diamond, and I found one at Bay Area Diamond. I shared my story with Alysse and Christina & they shared how they could help me create beautiful pieces for my girls and I.
Then in December of the same year, my Mother passed away. While going through her jewelry box we found her original diamond, which she kept when she upgraded her wedding set.
So now I had our original wedding set, my mother’s diamond, a ring from my grandmother (from the 1930’s), and my 20th anniversary ring setting. I also had a solitaire diamond necklace and pair of diamond earrings that I wasn't wearing anymore and therefore willing to redesign.
The designer came up with 4 different designs & I fell in love with one of them. I decided to add a ‘tear drop’ to my pendant. I had the chance to decide which diamond went in which pendant, and which pendant would be given to each daughter. The designer & team worked with me every step of the way.
The girl’s pendants each have a diamond from dad’s ring, a diamond from my ring, and a diamond from the necklace & earring set.
My pendant has three generations of diamonds - the main diamond from my original wedding set, my mom’s diamond, & the diamond from my grandmother's ring. It also has two diamonds from my husband’s ring, and two stones from our anniversary ring. Even all the small channel set diamonds were used."
